A week in review

Well had a very busy week!

Monday night: worked at bookshop, then went to the monthly ethics lecture series at the hospital (this month's was on organ sales/trading)

Tuesday: Had ICU OSCE (last exam for my degree!!! wooo!!!) then went climbing for the night

Wednesday Night: Had Brendan, Serene, Paul and Jun Shi over and had a pumpkin carving night!!! Was a lot of fun!! We carved out some big pumpkins, and then played guitar hero and Rayman Raving Rabbids until we were all out of energy!

Thursday Night: Had our last Life of Jesus study, which covered Jesus's resurrection. Has been a great few months of studies with the international students! Looking forward to our social night next week!

Friday night: Climbing, then went to Kerry's end of semester party :)

I'll try and post pics of the pumpkins soon!

i have ants in my bathroom and pantry, and i was attacked by dragon sized flying insects outside the house that are drawn to the backdoor light :-(

Solution:

1. ant bait
2. outdoor insect spray


hopefully that'll kill them!

oh and i forgot to mention the other day that joyce also gave me 2 bouncy balls as presents so i can be like Toby and throw balls against the wall xD

I'm off to watch s4 and enjoy a cold one before bed!

Bouldering

Went bouldering this weekend in Armidale.

Which meant 1000km round trip driving, 2 days of climbing and some very sore biceps and fingers!!

All worth it though!

Climbing

Went climbing this last weekend at Fingal bay again, and the weekend before went up to the Blue Mountains for some climbing. Had a great time!

Also got some cool pics with Danbo! I'll try and upload them soon!

A special day!

Today was a heart-stoppingly special day!

First of all it was the 9th of the 9th 09!!

2nd of all, today I got to see some cardiothoracic surgery! Got in on a CABG (coronary artery bypass graft) surgery and got to physically stop the heart and paralyse it once it was on bypass, and then got to restart it again!

Was pretty amazing stuff, up until today I'd never actually seen a LIVE heart beating away inside a chest... but today I did, was a very cool few hours :-)

Pepper

Tonight at dinner we snorted pepper lines...

wasn't so bad on the nose... just burned a little and made you want to sneeze.

On the other hand getting it into my eye was a bad eye... then wetting it with water only made it burn even more!! Ended up having to run it under water for a few mins to get rid of it all.

Was good fun though, managed to convince Roger, Sam, brendan and warwick to do it as well :-)

I'm so proud!
